“Wild emotions hit future Network Spinal Analysis chiropractor as she prepares to move!”
I begin chiropractic school at LIFE University in Marietta, GA in October 2013. My boyfriend and I are moving down there beginning of July to give ourselves a couple of months to enjoy the freedom of a new place together.
I have been told the first year of chiropractic school leaves very little free time. With that said this summer will be savored.
I am also basking in the beauty of the Hudson Valley at the moment. I love it here so much so the transition will be bittersweet. But mostly just sweet. I’ll be back here again someday–it’s the closest thing to home I’ve found so far.
I’ve never made such a big move. I’m such a family girl; I visit my family at least twice a month, ever since I moved for college. I love them so much! The couple of times I’ve expressed my concerns to my dad he said I’d be too busy to miss them.
I am also just so grateful that my other half is happy to move with me. Maaaan, change! Change is inevitable and it can be so beautiful but it can also be stressful!
***Looking forward to Triad of Change workshop with Dr. Josette May 22***
Aside from the apparently wild emotions I’m experiencing[!] the logistics of moving have kept me quite busy: finding a place, figuring out the best way to get down there with my kitty in the car, how much money to borrow per quarter, etc etc).
Wild emotions are justifiable with all Jackie has on her plate!
Tuition is about $8000/quarter. I thought about just taking out enough money to cover school expenses but between rent and life, it all adds up and who knows if a weekend waitressing job can necessary cover all that.
My parents have been so generous in taking care of me and my undergraduate expenses but I am entering a new chapter in my life and self-sufficiency has become more important to me. I guess I will figure it out as I go along.
As for my immediate responsibilities–I began writing an essay on the Big Idea, in hopes of receiving a scholarship. I started about two months ago and because I have until August to submit it, I have been procrastinating like crazy. It’s been on my to-do list ever since. Maybe this will be the week I get it done.
